The Rev. Marc J. Boswell, Ph.D.
Senior Pastor
Marc Boswell (he/him) has served in church ministries for over twenty years and in theological higher education for over ten. He earned an M.Div. from Union Presbyterian Seminary and a Ph.D. in Theological Studies from Garrett Theological Seminary at Northwestern University. He’s held faculty positions at the University of Mount Olive, Virginia Commonwealth University, Eastern University, and Union Presbyterian Seminary.
Marc has previously served with Baptist, Methodist, and Presbyterian (PCUSA) congregations in North Carolina and Virginia. More recently, he was the executive director of Together for Hope Louisiana, a ministry and non-profit in the Louisiana Delta. Academically, Marc’s work has led him to present at the American Academy of Religion, Harvard Divinity School, Princeton Theological Seminary, and Union Theological Seminary (NYC), along with having work published in multiple journals.
Beyond congregations and the classroom, Marc has served on the board of directors with Virginians for Alternatives to the Death Penalty, ACTS Richmond, Delta Interfaith, Community Action LP, Together for Hope Louisiana, and he currently serves in leadership positions with the Alliance of Baptists and the Great Rivers Fellowship.
A student and practitioner of liberation theologies, Marc’s ministry and academic work has focused on the church’s pursuit of justice and healing in the world through the Christian faith and other bodies of wisdom. He turns frequently to the writings of James Cone, Katie Cannon, Jon Sobrino, Thomas Merton, and Meister Eckhart, along with the writings from Buddhist and Jewish traditions.
Thomas N. Rushing
Minister of Music
Rushing has a B.A. in Music Theory and Composition and a B.M. in Music Education from William Carey College in Hattiesburg, MS, and an M.A. in Music History from Tulane. He has been an active soloist and conductor of church choirs since 1964.
Olga Brockett
Organist
Originally from Moscow, Russia, Olga is a choral conductor, organist and pianist. She and her husband, the Reverend Philip Brockett, are loving parents of their daughter, Natasha.
Rev. Caroline Durham
Executive Director, Center for Faith + Action
Caroline Durham brings thirty-plus years of justice advocacy to her role as Executive Director for the Center. She comes to the Center from her role as Georgia Appleseed's Legal and Policy Director. In addition to serving as a public defender in state and federal courts, she has extensive experience training advocates on how to effectively navigate criminal courts, provide client-centered services, and bring about systemic change through case-by-case work. A graduate of Tulane Law School, Caroline is committed to strengthening communities in the South. Beyond her legal practice, Caroline has served as a member of several boards and volunteered with community organizations. Caroline and her partner, Barbara "Bobbie" Dyce, are grateful to call New Orleans home.
